Georgia is ranked 37th in the nation in child and family well-being in the 2024 KIDS COUNT Data Book. Georgia continues to rank in the bottom 10 states in health, as well as family and community. Low birthweight, teen death rate, and chronic absenteeism are still causes for concern. More high school students are graduating on time—and while still an area of concern, there are fewer children living in poverty.
