Create a Safe and Positive Digital Space for Yourself

On #BlockItOutDay, let’s remember that building a positive online experience begins with the choices we make about our own digital space. Here are some ways to create a safe, supportive environment online that nurtures your well-being:

Block It Out Day1. Follow Accounts with You in Mind: Be intentional about whom you follow. Choose accounts that align with your values, inspire you, and make you feel good about yourself.

2. Set Boundaries for Interaction: Decide what kind of interactions you’re comfortable with online. Consider limiting comments on certain posts or unfollowing accounts that disrupt your peace.

3. Unfollow or Mute Negativity: If an account consistently brings negativity or stress to your feed, unfollow or mute it. Your online space should uplift you, not bring you down.

4. Curate Positive Content: Seek out and engage with content that brings you joy, education, or inspiration. Fill your feed with things that add value to your life and support your growth.

5. Limit Screen Time When Needed: Set boundaries on how much time you spend on social media. Taking breaks can help you stay balanced and prevent social media burnout.

6. Engage Mindfully: Be mindful of how you engage with others. Choose to comment, like, and share in ways that reflect kindness and respect, setting a positive tone for your interactions.

7. Use Privacy Tools: Take advantage of privacy settings on platforms to control who can interact with you. Block, unfollow, or report when necessary to maintain a safe space.

8. Connect with Supportive Communities: Find groups or follow influencers that promote kindness, empathy, and encouragement. Surrounding yourself with a positive community can enhance your online experience.

Empower Yourself on #BlockItOutDay
Tomorrow, take a stand for your digital well-being. By curating a digital space that feels safe and positive, you’re taking a powerful step toward a more fulfilling online experience. Let’s make social media a place that uplifts, encourages, and protects us all.
