Attention Brantley County residents affected by the recent wildfires:
To help support individuals and families impacted by the wildfires, identification cards have been created for affected residents. These cards can be used to access available community services, including but not limited to the donation hub, washer and dryer facilities, and other assistance programs as they become available. The cards can be picked up from the Brantley County Board of Commission office located at 33 Allen Street, Nahunta, 31553. Their office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm.
Residents are encouraged to obtain and carry their ID cards when seeking services related to wildfire recovery efforts.
In addition, the Georgia Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (GA VOAD) will soon be coming to Brantley County to assist with long-term recovery efforts. GA VOAD and its partner organizations will work alongside the community to provide recovery support, including assistance with rebuilding homes and helping families recover from wildfire damage.
Additional information regarding service locations, recovery resources, and upcoming assistance opportunities will be announced as it becomes available. All resources will be listed on the Hwy 82 Fire Recovery Website at www.hwy82firerecovery.com. Updates will be made on the Brantley County Family Connection Facebook page and state website at www.brantley.gafcp.org.
