Grant Program GoodUse Program
Grant Size Varies
Deadline Oct. 11, 2024
Southface Institute’s GoodUse program helps nonprofits reduce utility costs and their environmental footprint by improving their energy and water efficiency. GoodUse provides technical assistance, education, and matching grants to nonprofit organizations for facility and operational upgrades that increase resource efficiency, lower expenses, and improve indoor health.
Southface engineers identify areas for high-impact energy and water savings and indoor air improvements and assist with project implementation. Examples of common upgrade projects include:
- lighting and lighting controls
- plumbing and water heaters
- building automation systems or wi-fi thermostats
- HVAC system replacements or retrocommissioning and controls upgrades
- building envelope
- kitchen appliances
- solar PV
Nonprofit organizations that own their building or have a long-term lease of at least five years are eligible to apply. GoodUse works nationally, but the program’s primary focus is the southeast United States.
