The American Legion Child Welfare Foundation seeks to contribute to the welfare of children and youth in the United States by aiding progress in the field of child welfare. Support is provided for programs that benefit the welfare of children and youth physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Support is also provided for research aimed at discovering and interpreting facts or revisions of accepted philosophies to create new or revised theories that benefit the welfare of children and youth. Grants must have the potential to help children nationally or at least in a large geographic area. Nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply.
