Healing Together: How Engaging in Family Recovery Supports Loved Ones with SUD

Tuesday, October 17, 2023 @ 12:00pm - 1:00pm

Date & Time Oct 17, 2023 12:00 PM in
Description
The effects of substance use disorder (SUD) are far-reaching and stretch beyond the lives of those individually impacted. Whole family systems – and even communities – are affected by addiction, and knowing the best way to support a loved one with an SUD can be confusing and complicated. Join Georgia Recovers for a thoughtful discussion with Deena Davis, CARES, CPS-AD, IPS, and Margaret Thompson, M.S., LADC, FAS, as they walk through the complexities of this family disease and offer practical strategies for family members navigating recovery with those they care about while also taking care of themselves. Our webinar will allow participants to: • understand the effects of SUD on an entire family unit and why recovery is a collective journey, • explore techniques for building resiliency as a family unit, promoting healthy boundary-setting and emotional well-being, and • learn from common challenges encountered by family members during the recovery process and approaches to overcome them.
